Elevators
As someone who works in a hospital and who uses the elevators several times a day to deliver drugs here and there, I see this behaviour a lot. St Paul’s is pretty old, and with the elevators getting almost constant use, they break down all the time. We have four elevators to use for wheeled traffic and staff. One has never worked the entire time I’ve worked there (since March), and the other three take turns breaking down on a daily basis. So sometimes we’re left with just two or even one. During the middle of the day, this is agonizing.
I’ll be standing there with my cart of stuff and someone walks up and pushes the button ten times, as if I was just standing there not waiting for an elevator. If the elevator takes a while, they will go up every couple minutes and hit the button a few more times. Sure, that works.
