So a VFS student by the name of Jason Hensel decided to go ahead and model Chill Winston for a school project I guess? Super weird. It’s really well done as an environment project, but as someone who spent two years of their life in the real life version of this fabulous establishment, here’s what I noticed:
It’s weird that there’s a car just sitting out in front of the patio - pretty sure there’s no stopping there, and if there was, all of Gastown would probably explode. Also: why does it have a European license plate?!
I love how he replaced Chill’s shitty green patio tables and chairs with fancy wooden ones. And there’s actually space to walk between them. The patio has also apparently lost the metal fence that contains it, spilling out onto the walkway so that there’s actually no sidewalk.
He forgot to include Bill, the weird homeless guy that was always out there sweeping up the side patio.
Pretty sure the floor inside has NEVER been that shiny.
Nice tetraptych.
Pretty disappointed he didn’t include the bathroom. Basically the best part of the restaurant.
There’s no frowny-faced hipster servers. (Just kidding!)
I wonder how many $12 poutines this dude had to eat while he gathered photos and drawings to bring this to life. All in all, nice work, dude. Better than the real thing.
